These wheels are built to the same high standards that all of our wheels are built to. These wheels will stay True and Round for a minimum of 1 year (See warranty and wheel building info). We use top of the line Components that have proven themselves in the industry to be of the highest quality. The only recommendations for riders over 190 lbs is going with a higher spoke count to handle the extra weight.

Important Note: Black Spokes or CX-Ray, or Laser 14/17 Spokes may be added to all Spin Lite Built Wheels for an additional fee per wheel. Please make sure to add either of these options to your shopping cart when selecting your wheels.

CX-Ray Spoke Upgrade: The best aerodynamic spoke now available. As light as titanium spokes, CX-Ray still receive the best results in fatigue testing of any spoke. No doubt why CX-Ray are used by top bike racers and triathletes around the world. Special alloy treatment and sophisticated production make this all possible. This option will reduce the weight of your wheel set by approx 1.6 grams per spoke, i.e. 100 grams for 32/32 spoke wheel set.

Laser 14/17g Spoke Upgrade: Sapim butted spokes have two major benefits: less weight and more strength! Technological advances using cold forging (SAPIM Forging Technology) 'stretch' the spoke, retaining the linear molecular structure of the material, thereby increasing the spoke strength at the middle by at least 48%. As an added bonus, the thin middle section of the light Laser also provides better shock absorption. This option will reduce the weight of your wheel set by approx 1.6 grams per spoke, i.e. 100 grams for 32/32 spoke wheel set.

Veloplugs Option
Description:
They are out of this world! You can search the entire universe and you won't find anything quite like the Veloplug. The Veloplug is an amazing new invention, international patents pending. Why wrap your complete rim with a roll of heavy cloth tape when for less than half the weight you can use the Veloplug. Incredible blowout strength and takes well over 400psi. Tires start to fail long before the Veloplug.

Tire mounting is easier with the Veloplug. Rim strips take up a lot of space making tires more difficult to mount. With the sleek and slippery Veloplug, a difficult to mount tire becomes easy. Spoke replacement is simplified as there is no need to remove a sticky strip. Just pop out the Veloplug over the offending spoke and pop it back in when repairs are complete. They can be used over and over.

The Veloplug fits any rim with a nominal 8mm web hole. This covers most of the Velocity range as well as many 'Brand X' rims.

This is the Recumbent wheel set for you if you are looking for reliable strength and light weight. This is the lightest recumbent rims you can build with in the Velocity line up. It has eyeleted holes and machined sidewalls. If you do any climbing on your recumbent this is the wheel set to have. We Build this wheel set with 14/15 gauge or 14/17 gauge depending on your weight (Choose option at top of page for 14/17 spokes). This rim comes in Black or Midnight Blue.

The Uriel Recumbent wheelset is available in more sizes than any of Velocity's other wheelsets.

Velocity can make 451/700C, 406/700C, 650C/650C, 451/650C and 406/650C wheels. These come with 20 spoke front wheels and 24 spoke rear wheels. The rear wheels comes with a 135mm O.L.D. (over locknut dimension). As an option, Velocity does offer a hub for recumbents with 130mm spacing.

This was introduced last year to rave reviews. It was designed specifically for recumbents that use 406mm (20 x 1.5) front wheels and 559mm (26 x 1.5) rear wheels. With a high tech lacing pattern, this wheelset will turn heads even when your standing still; and they perform down the road like nothing you've ever ridden. Lightweight and durable, these wheels "deliver the goods" with Velocity's high quality black Aeroheat rims with machined sidewalls and black Velocity sealed bearings hubs. Add to that high quality black stainless steel spokes and brass nipples for strength and you really have a winning combination!
