Single speed wheels are great for training and building strength. They are built to the highest of wheel building standards to stay true and round. These are the Top of the line components. If the Racer is heavier than 180 lbs it is recommended to go to a little heavier and stronger rim. For Racer's over 200 lbs it is recommended to go a higher spoke count.

Spin Lite Built Single Speed Mountain Bike Wheels

Single Speed Mountain Bike Wheels: 130mm spaced rear built with super high quality Sapim Stainless steel spokes. Their 14/15g Race spoke and silver Brass nipples, in a standard 3X pattern on the Rear and 2X pattern on the front. We can lace other ways apon request. Any of these wheels can be upgrade to Laser 14/17g spokes, CX-Ray spokes, and Alloy nipples. See top of page for specifics on these upgrades.

Spin Lite Built Aeroheat Single Speed Mountain Bike Wheelset

Description:
The Aeroheat is Velocity’s most popular mtb rim, it is reasonably light and strong. This rim weights in at 442 grams in the 26” size. It comes in several color options, it can be ordered with machined sidewalls for rim brakes or non machined sidewalls for Disc brakes. We build these with top quality Sapim Race 14/15g spokes, but they can be upgraded to Laser 14/17g spokes or the best spoke on the market the CX-Ray spokes, with silver brass nipples. This is one of the lightest and most popular mtb rims used in cross country racing today, if you are looking for a super light and still reasonably strong Single speed mtb wheel set this is the one. This rim weights in at approx 405 grams for the rim brake version and 395 grams in the disc brake version. It has stainless steel eyelets and a welded seam. American Classic MTB 29 Single Speed Disc WheelsDescription:
Our 29er single speed wheel is about drive train efficiency, lower rotational mass and mechanical simplicity. The single speed hub flange spacing allows for optimal wheel dishing and triangulation building an inherently stronger wheel. The new tubeless 29” rim is light and at 26mm wide x 23mm deep, it is wider, stiffer and supports the tire for improved ground control and handling. Lighter weight and stiffness translate into quick acceleration, more speed over rolling hills and mountain goat climbing. Wheels are tubeless with our pre-installed AC 25mm tubeless tape and AC valves, and use your favorite tires with sealant. The wheels can also be ridden with a regular tire and tube setup. Bead barb technology hooks on the tire bead to help keep the tire in place.
