Single speed wheels are great for training and building strength. They are built to the highest of wheel building standards to stay true and round. These are the Top of the line components. If the Racer is heavier than 180 lbs it is recommended to go to a little heavier and stronger rim. For Racer's over 200 lbs it is recommended to go a higher spoke count.

CX-Ray Spoke Upgrade: The best aerodynamic spoke now available. As light as titanium spokes, CX-Ray still receive the best results in fatigue testing of any spoke. No doubt why CX-Ray are used by top bike racers and triathletes around the world. Special alloy treatment and sophisticated production make this all possible. This option will reduce the weight of your wheel set by approx 1.6 grams per spoke, i.e. 100 grams for 32/32 spoke wheel set.

Laser 14/17g Spoke Upgrade: Sapim butted spokes have two major benefits: less weight and more strength! Technological advances using cold forging (SAPIM Forging Technology) 'stretch' the spoke, retaining the linear molecular structure of the material, thereby increasing the spoke strength at the middle by at least 48%. As an added bonus, the thin middle section of the light Laser also provides better shock absorption. This option will reduce the weight of your wheel set by approx 1.6 grams per spoke, i.e. 100 grams for 32/32 spoke wheel set. The wheel set will be built with Laser spokes on the front and non drive side only, Drive side will be built with the standard 14/15g spokes.

Veloplugs Option
Description:
They are out of this world! You can search the entire universe and you won't find anything quite like the Veloplug. The Veloplug is an amazing new invention, international patents pending. Why wrap your complete rim with a roll of heavy cloth tape when for less than half the weight you can use the Veloplug. Incredible blowout strength and takes well over 400psi. Tires start to fail long before the Veloplug.

Tire mounting is easier with the Veloplug. Rim strips take up a lot of space making tires more difficult to mount. With the sleek and slippery Veloplug, a difficult to mount tire becomes easy. Spoke replacement is simplified as there is no need to remove a sticky strip. Just pop out the Veloplug over the offending spoke and pop it back in when repairs are complete. They can be used over and over.

The Veloplug fits any rim with a nominal 8mm web hole. This covers most of the Velocity range as well as many 'Brand X' rims.

Spin Lite Built Single Speed Road Wheels

Single Speed Road Wheels: 130mm spaced rear built with super high quality Sapim Stainless steel spokes. Their 14/15g Race spoke and silver Brass nipples, in a standard 3X pattern on the Rear and 2X pattern on the front. We can lace other ways apon request. Any of these wheels can be upgrade to Laser 14/17g spokes, CX-Ray spokes, and Alloy nipples. See top of page for specifics on these upgrades.

 Description:
This is fast becoming one of the favorite road rims for both single speed and multi speed wheel sets, It matches a near perfect balance between light weight and aerodynamics, the rim weights 466 grams with a super strong 25mm profile, this profile and superior strength allows the use of loser spoke counts with no loss of stiffness and durability. We can build this wheel set with as low as 20 spoke front and 24 spoke rear depending on the hub choice and of course the size and riding style of the rider. Spin Lite Built Deep V Single Speed Road Bike Wheelset

 

 Description:
This is one of the strongest 700c Road rims available, it is 520 grams, very strong and aerodynamic. The Deep V has machined sidewalls for superior braking. This rim is 30mm tall and super strong so it can be built with as low as a 16 spoke hole count on the front and 24 spoke count on the rear without worries for riders up to 190 Lbs. This is also a great training rim for those that want a super strong rim for commuting and lots of trouble free miles.
